Sulfur compound impurities in liquid LPG are undesirable because of their obnoxious odor and their tendency to hydrolyze, forming toxic and corrosive hydrogen sulfide. To reduce total sulfur content, a LPG sweetener is used.
LPG sweetener is a LPG handling equipment built up by three columns linear connected in series with rigid seamless high pressure tubes, complete with filter, drain valve, manometer. Transfer pump can also be installed on demand. Three columns (steps) utilizes active carbon, silicon gel, and 13X molecular sieves to remove bigger particles in a first step, moisture in a second step, and H2S in final step, which is an ideal solution to meet the minimum total sulfur specification.
